Cupcake Wilderness

December 20th, 2011

You know when life is busy and kind of passes you by?
Well, that seems to have been the last 12 months for me, as I looked here and found that my last post was almost 12 months ago.
That shocked me for 2 reasons –

1) Where has the last 12 months gone?

2) My social networking/blogging skills are absolutely appalling.

So, apologies for the delay in between this post and my last – I could lie and say I went to Africa to help a tribe of pygmies learn to bake cakes, or I was in a coma, but the truth is I just haven’t. My life is one long busy haze.

So why now, I hear you cry?

2 Reasons (again)

1) I have tonsilitis and am lying here feeling sorry for myself while the kids run riot round my house.
2) I remembered

What has happened since my past post? (Again, I am sure I heard someone at the back ask)

Well, in a nutshell, kids and cakes, and work and husband (probably in that order if I am being honest).

Cake work is still ongoing, and have some very loyal customers who give me a lot of repeat business, but more customers would always be lovely, so here is the plug…

If you are looking for the most delicious, beautiful, hand baked and finished cupcakes in the whole of North Wales and Chester, then look no further than Totally Cupcake. Friendly people (my hubby does deliveries and he is very cheerful), great tasting cakes, and reasonably priced (although the cost of ingredients has gone through the roof recently).
Small batches to wedding tiers, parties, hen weekends – whatever the reason, treat yourself to some beautiful cupcakes in 2012.

Thank you

Email Problems

January 6th, 2011

A brand new year, husband in bed with man flu and my emails have apprently stopped reaching me… what a fabulous start to 2011.

Glitch Update: All appears to be fixed, but I may have lost some mails – if you are waiting for a reply and haven’t heard from me, I am very sorry, but please try again.

A new month – new ideas

October 4th, 2010

What a busy month it has been. The dinner dance went very well… even if I do say so myself. Then I had my first outing at a craft fair – after a slow start I virtually sold out, which was a relief as I didn’t know what I was going to do with 150 cupcakes… although I had a few people texting me during the day offering their unique ‘clean-up’ service. How very kind people are!

Anyway, the highlight of the day was ‘H’ from pop group Steps who was there with some friends – he bought some cakes early on and then bought almost a full tray a bit later on… what a gentleman he is. And obviously a man with perfect taste.

This month is functions, parties, and individual orders – I got an email order all the way from New Zealand last week…

I have some new plans for the business in the next month or so… it is going to be very exciting I think, so keep your eye on my blog and Facebook page for some big news (well, big in my cupcake world anyway).

See you soon

xx

Happy Customer Testimonials

September 1st, 2010

It occurred to me that I don’t have a page available for happy customers to post how delicious my cakes truly are…haha.
If you would like to comment, I would be eternally grateful.

A Busy Month Ahead…

September 1st, 2010

September already… where has the year gone? Biggest news for the month is that my little girl starts school tomorrow (Thursday) – she looks gorgeous in her new shiny uniform. She is ready to get there but I do worry that the school is quite ready for her.
Then got a couple of functions, some congratulations cakes to do next week, a dinner dance to help organise, and then the craft fair at the end of the month. I hope the rain holds off for that one.
So will be looking forward to a nice glass of wine at the end of the month…

Cupcake Dilemma

August 26th, 2010

So, we are off to offer our wares at the Waterloo Hotel in Betws y Coed at the end of September.
I have a dilemma…
How many cupcakes will I need to make?
I don’t want to take so few that they get sold out in half an hour (which they obviously will…haha), but then again, too many and hubby and the kids will be eating them for tea for the next week.
What is a reasonable number to take – I was thinking about 150 – does that seem reasonable?

School Holidays

August 24th, 2010

They don’t half get in the way of things, don’t they. I mean, trying to run a family and a cake business is hard work, but with 3 kids constantly running round your feet, it is not easy… I love them to bits, but I think I am ready for them to go back to school now. And the smallest is off to playgroup too – only a week to go.

Crazy few weeks

June 12th, 2010

Well, I get my blog up and running and then busy, busy, busy. Sorry!
Anyway, the scariest thing to happen this week was the visit from the Environmental Health. They always come when ypu set up a business and I had hubby cleaning the oven for what seemed like hours on Monday… was gleaming afterwards – didn’t envy him.
Anyway – we passed with flying colours, so not only are totally cupcakes totally delicious, they are also officially safe to eat – hahaha.
Also did some orders orders as well, but am looking for a local farmers market for weekend sales – does anyone know of any that I might approach?
And going to go to some wedding exhibitions to see if there is any point there.
Oh…and I got my business cards too this week – Ben has done a lovely job – they look gorgeous.
So, all in all its been busy but heading in the right direction.
